Fort Frances town clerk leaving

The town of Fort Frances is losing its town clerk.

Gabrielle Lecuyer has tendered her resignation and is moving on to a position elsewhere.

Mayor Andrew Hallikas announced at Monday night’s meeting that it was the last council meeting Lecuyer would be attending.

She has been the town’s clerk for the past three years.

Mayor Andrew Hallikas calls her one of the best at her position and will be missed.

“Gabrielle has always gone above and beyond expectations, constantly striving to increase the efficiency, transparency, accountability and morale of the organization,” says Hallikas.

“She has inculcated civility and dignity among all employees and among council, and has been the ethical compass of this organization. Gabrielle has fulfilled an important role in this municipality with dignity, integrity, humour, competence and with great professionalism.”
