Ford travels Rainy River District, end-to-end

Premier Doug Ford has wrapped up his tour of the Rainy River District.

It started Tuesday with a visit to Atikokan and ended late yesterday in the west end of the district.

It was Ford’s visit to the area since winning the 2018 election.

Speaking in Fort Frances, Ford says he enjoys his travels outside of Toronto.

“I just love getting out of that city and coming up here. First hand, you get to go into the library and go into the OPP station and go meet the local people and have a good chat with an incredible mayor they have here and then you get a real connection on what’s going on,” says Ford.

Ford was in town in part to kick off the Great Northern Ontario Roadshow that happens in Fort Frances this weekend.

Science North showed off so the activities it will have at the event.

Ford would later make visits to Emo, speak with cattle farmers in Stratton and attend a COVID-19 vaccination clinic in Rainy River.

Northern Development Minister and area MPP Greg Rickford joined Ford on the tour.
