First Day Numbers Revealed

Not a huge turnout on the first day of voting in the municipal election in Fort Frances.

The town of Fort Frances reports 7.8 per cent of eligible voters made their sections on Monday.

By comparison, Kenora saw a 20 per cent voter turnout on its first day.

A total of 368 votes were cast through the Internet.

Forty-three people used the telephone to cast their votes.

Residents have until next Monday at 8 p.m. to cast their ballots.

If you need help, the town has opened a Voter Help Centre at the Civic Centre that is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day this week.
