Fire leaves home uninhabitable

Fire officials in Fort Frances say only one person was injured following a fire Monday evening, which also caused considerable damage to a Third Street West home.

The blaze broke out around 9:00 p.m. and upon arrival fire fighters could see a considerable amount of smoke and flames emanating from the home.

Two occupants of the home were able to escape however one was sent to hospital for injuries they sustained.

A total of 15 fire fighters along with the resources of two pumper trucks and one rescue truck managed to quickly knock down the fire.

As a result of the fire the home has been rendered uninhabitable, and while officials say they have determined the origin of the fire the cause remains unknown at this time.
