OPP are warning of a phone scam making its way through the Rainy River district.
The target has been the elderly with claims they’ve won a multi-million dollar prize but requiring the victim to send a large sum of money either with cheques, bank drafts, credit cards, and even gift cards.
Police says multiple people in our area have received this call.
OPP now asking the public to let seniors know of this scam and if you know someone who’s planning to make large withdrawals of money to make sure they aren’t the victims of the fraud.
