E.A. Started On Bending Lake Project

A federal environmental assessment has started on the proposed Bending Lake Iron project.

Ambershaw Metallics is proposing an open-pit iron ore mine to be located about 50 kilometres southwest of Ignace.

A group known as the Bending Lake Iron Group started looking at the site in 2010 before it was acquired in a bankruptcy sale by Ambershaw who continued with the exploration.

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency is now accepting comment on the proposed project until the end of September.

CFOB-News reached out to the mining firm for comment but those calls have not yet been returned.
