Defections No Concern To NDP Candidate

A northwestern Ontario NDP candidate has no concerns about her chances in next month’s federal election after news that 14 party members in New Brunswick bolted to the Green Party.

Yuk-Sem Won who is running in the riding of Thunder Bay-Rainy River believes the NDP is strong in northwestern Ontario and can overcome the bad publicity.

The federal candidate points to John Rafferty and Howard Hampton as members who have proven the New Democrats care about the concerns of the north.

She says “something like this doesn’t set me back.”

She also doesn’t believe she’ll need to be looking over her shoulder at the Greens this election.
