CUPE’s Education Members Holding Strike Votes

The Canadian Union of Public Employees is asking for a no board report in their contract talks for education workers under their wing.

This would put members in a legal strike position on September 23 pending the outcomes of strike votes now underway.

Those votes will continue until September 15.

CUPE says it was put in the position after the bargaining teams representing school boards and the province wouldn’t move from proposals the union says will cut services and hurt students.
