Forest fire conditions in the region are mostly low to moderate, but high to extreme in the Red Lake area today.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says there are three fires in that area, one near Pikangikum being held around 3,800 hectares, a three-hectare fire near Poplar Hill, and another near Trout Lake.
That fire is not under control at over 6,800 hectares, although crews are making progress.
The forest fire near Pickle Lake is being held around 800 hectares, as crews tackle hotspots.
Officials say there are a total of six active fires in the Northwest right now.
