COVID Outbreak at LaVerendrye

A COVID outbreak has been declared at LaVerendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

Riverside Health Care says it is isolated to the First Floor Inpatient Unit.

It has led to visitor restrictions.

Patients are allowed just one visitor or caregiver.

Palliative patients on the floor can have up to four visits, two at any given moment.

Staff have been cohorted, and N95 masks are now required by both staff and visitors.

Riverside says an Outbreak Management Team is monitoring the situation.
