The Fort Frances court house is being underutilized.
A review by Ontario’s Auditor General found the court rooms are being used an average of 1.3 hours per day.
The government would like to see them used for an average of 4.5 hours per day.
The Auditor also found 51 per cent of cases before the local court at the start of the year had been resolved by the end of the year.
It also took an average of 175 days to have a case go through the process.
The Fort Frances courthouse was one of 27 the auditor identified as having a large backlog of cases but was being underutilized.
