Council Gets Meeting With Minister

The town of Fort Frances has been able to press its concerns about the recent sale of the mill to Natural Resources John Yakabuski.

A council delegation headed by June Caul, in Ottawa for the Association of Municipalities of Ontario conference, sat down this morning with the Minister and Northern Development Minister and Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford.

A release from the town says the Minister understood the town’s concerns and expressed an interest in putting in place a process to determine the wood fibre needs in the district.

The two ministries are slated to hold further internal meetings next week.
