Couchiching man arrested in Thunder Bay for child sexual abuse and exploitation

A 50-year-old man from Couchiching First Nation has been arrested on charges concerning child sexual abuse and exploitation materials (CSAEM).

The Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) received a report in October drawing attention to the accused individual, resulting in the execution of a search warrant on the city’s south side in December.

The accused, Eric John Morrisseau, faces charges of accessing, possessing, and making CSAEM materials.

He was charged with the same crimes by the Fort Frances OPP in 2011.

Morrisseau remains in police custody and will face the courts in the future.

The TBPS is calling on the public for assistance, and encourages anyone with information that could assist the investigation to contact Detective Constable Brian Stewart at 807-696-0912.
