The train derailment near Emo this week has reached all the way to Ottawa.
Thunder Bay-Rainy River MP Marcus Powlowski says he wanted to bring it up to the Transportation minister Marc Garneau, but he already knew about it.
“He really is asking the questions in Ottawa and is really a diligent guy,” enthuses Powlowski.
“I mean he’s really doing his job. I was impressed. He’s not just an empty politician. So hopefully, you’re going to get some real answers and people are trying to do their best for Emo down here in Ottawa.”
Powlowski says there is concern that this is the third derailment reported on that stretch of railway in recent years.
