The province is inviting two companies to submit their bids to build the proposed Thunder Bay Correctional Complex.
A statement names EllisDon Infrastructure Justice and Fengate PCL Progress Partners.
Infrastructure Ontario says they were chosen as candidates to build the 325-bed facility as part of a process that started back in 2018.
It says the winning bidder is expected to be announced in spring 2022.
