Cattail Removal Underway

Voyageurs National Park has started work on removing two floating cattail mats from Lake Kabetogama’s Sullivan Bay.

Park staff began pushing them yesterday to another at Ash River.

All three will be eventually treated and removed.

The park says hybrid cattails have been problematic, taking over nearly 500 acres of wetlands.
