Catholic Teachers To Take Job Action Next Week

The Ontario English Catholic Teachers Association is the latest teacher union to announce job action.

Starting next week, OECTA says it members will be refraining from doing certain administrative duties if they don’t get a new deal with the province.

OECTA was in a legal strike position as of December 21 and joins the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation and the Elementary Teachers Federation as teachers unions engaged in job action against the provincial government.

English Catholic Teachers negotiators are sitting down with the provincial government today and tomorrow.

Catholic teachers have been without a contract since the start of this school year.
