Campaign Reaches Halfway Point

Riverside Foundation for Health Care is taking its ‘Picture This’ campaign to the west end of the district.

The campaign aims to raise $1.5 million to replace equipment in the Diagnostic Imaging Department at LaVerendrye Hospital in Fort Frances.

Officials attended virtually Emo township council’s meeting, where they asked for a $22,500 commitment paid over three years.

Director Alison Cox says some municipalities have already made contributions.

“We have had so far five municipalities on board already. Some of them have done just a one-time donation instead of spreading it over three years. Others that we have presented to, we’re just waiting to hear back from still,” says Cox.

Cox notes the campaign is now 53 per cent toward its final goal.

It was officially launched in June.

Cox says the campaign will likely continue until next month, but action is already being taken to make the necessary purchases.

“The purchasers at the facilities have already put out quotes for proposals. So we are optimistic that all of the equipment will be ordered by fiscal year-end,” says Cox.

The Foundation is also earmarking the proceeds of its monthly 50/50 draws toward the campaign.
