Broncos cross-country team competes in Roseau/Warroad

Members of the International Falls Broncos cross-country teams were in competition at two events over the past week.

Monday, the Broncos were in Warroad, where the combined varsity and junior varsity teams finished fourth in the girls event and fifth in the boys.

Lola Hall was the top Broncos on the girls’ side with a 5th place finish.

Six others finished in the top twenty.

Ila Hemstad was 11th. Braelyn Domitrovich was 13th. Laney Becker placed 14th. Bella Amerud was 15th. Julia Dykstra finished 16th, while Ellie Kooistra was 17th.

Camden Deedrick scored a 7th-place finish on the boys’ side, while Andrew Dale was 18th as the only other Broncos to finish in the top 20.

Last Thursday, the team was in Roseau, where Hall scored another 5th place finish.

Dykstra (17th), Amerud (18th) and Hemstad (19th) had top 20 finishes as the Broncos placed third behind Fertile Beltrami and the host team.

Deedrick finished 6th on the boys’ side, with three of his teammates scoring top 20 finishes.

Sean Brubaker was 12th. Andrew Dale was 14th and Joe Sullivan was 19th, helping the team to a third-place showing.

The Broncos girls swim and dive team is in action this evening as they host Chisholm in a dual meet.

The action is taking place at the Falls pool from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
