There has been a tragic end to a lengthy search for a missing International Falls man.
Koochiching County Sheriff’s Office says the body of 64-year-old Roger Tupper was discovered Tuesday afternoon floating on the Rainy River near Nelson Landing in Birchdale.
Authorities say Tupper was trying to kayak to the Canadian side last November but never reached his destination.
His kayak, some belongings and a dead dog were later found on the Canadian side of the river.
Tupper’s disappearance resulted in an extensive search involving several agencies from the U.S. and Ontario.
