Auto Insurance Costs Increase

The cost of auto insurance in Ontario is up.

A report from the online comparison site, LowestRates.ca, shows the average cost of insurance has risen over 9 per cent in the past three months.

This after rates declined by about 11 per cent over the past year.

The findings come as the Ford government prepares to introduce changes to auto insurance.

They include giving motorists the ability to customize their policies and ending the practice of insurance companies using where you live as a factor in pricing.

You can find more information about the report here.
