Arbitrator Renders New Deal For Nurses

Disappointment from Ontario nurses over their new deal.

An arbitrator is siding with the province in awarding members of the Ontario Nurses Association a one per cent wage increase in a new one-year deal.

While the ONA has been negotiating with the Ontario Hospital Association, the wage increase is dictated by Bill 124.

President Vicki McKenna says the increase doesn’t even come close to the rate of inflation.

The two sides went to arbitration after a break down in talks in March.
