It wasn’t record-setting, but it was another wet month for the Borderland region.
Environment Canada says Fort Frances received more than 80 millimetres of rain this month, heading into the final day of the month.
That is almost double what fell in June 2021.
It was also wet in Atikokan. It received 68.7 millimetres, lower than June 2021 when 84.1 mm of rain fell.
The rainfall has had an impact on the decline of area waters.
Rainy Lake remains slightly below its 1950 record high-level mark and about 30 centimetres over its 2014 level.
It could fall 23 to 27 cm over the next week, pending the presence of more rain.
Lake of the Woods level is starting to stabilize. It could start to drop as early as this weekend or early next week.
