A Trip Around Northwestern Ontario With My Brother

My brother Matt came for a visit this past weekend!

It was awesome to spend some time with him because he lives in southern Ontario and works as an OPP officer so we don’t get to see each other as often as we’d like.

Matt drove up here over the course of a couple of days and he let me know that in the grand scheme of things Fort Frances is actually one of bigger places in our part of the province…I’ll try no to call The Borderland “small” anymore.

We enjoyed some local cuisine and got caught up.

We also spent an entire day driving around the region. We checked out Dryden and then it was off to Kenora.

I don’t drive so it was great to FINALLY see some of these places after living here for almost 7 years!

There were several fishing tournaments going on and Matt pointed out just how expensive the boats are…. I think maybe he’s been researching the idea of getting a one himself. Maybe I’ll convince him to move here and get a place on the water.

We ended his trip with a tour of the radio station and Caitlin was kind enough to snap this pic!

Here’s hoping you get to spend some time with the people who matter to you this summer too.
