It’s officially Pride Month and Borderland Pride, the organizers of so many awesome local events every June, are using a different flag this year
It’s not your typical Rainbow Flag. It’s actually called the Progress Pride Flag.

It overlays the usual 6-striped rainbow with a chevron on the left side that features black, brown, light blue, pink, and white stripes.
This flag represents some of the most marginalized communities at the forefront of the Pride movement – including racialized members of the community and trans and gender-diverse people.
The arrow points to the right to show forward movement, but that progress still has to be achieved.
I’m all for this Progress Pride Flag, because we NEED to continue to live in a world that is constantly evolving for the better, for EVERYONE.
Progress, unfortunately, is moving a a glacial pace. In fact, there are too many examples nowadays where some people are trying to move us backward as a society. I’m NOT here for that!
It should just be a given that people within the LGBTQ2+ community have the exact same rights and privileges as anyone else. They shouldn’t have to fight so hard and endure so much to simply to be who they are. We need to lead with respect, acceptance and love.
