Seniors Centre Management Board Reviewing Input

The Fort Frances Senior Centre Management Board is moving beyond the public input stage on a possible move of the Senior Centre to the former daycare facility.

Town councillor Wendy Brunetta says a lot of input has been received through two surveys, an open house at the former daycare centre and from presentations made by individuals at their board meetings.

She says members will continue to gather research in different ways.

“Board members will look at the survey results from the last survey. We will get an estimate of the cost to renovate the daycare so that we can compare that to the cost of renovations of the current centre,” says Brunetta.

Brunetta says their also looking into what grants are available for renovations to either the daycare or the existing facility.

Brunetta says some costing information has already been obtained.

“We obtained a cost estimate regarding possible renovations to the current center. We’ve done an operating cost comparison of the two facilities,” says Brunetta.

No final decision has yet been made.
