The Canada Border Services Agency is out with an advisory to Americans coming to Canada.

The agency has launched an awareness campaign in light of recent seizures, including here in Fort Frances.
They say if you need to bring a firearm into Canada, you must have the necessary permits to do so and it has to be securely stored.
Failing to declare a gun at the border can lead to its seizure, criminal charges, and making you inadmissible into Canada.
