City Disappointed By Kmart Closing

The city of International Falls is expressing disappointment with the pending closure of the local Kmart store.

The store is one of a hundred being shuttered across the U.S. in the most recent store closures.

City Administrator Ken Anderson says it’s disturbing news for the local community and surrounding area.

“I’m sure that we will do all we can to try and assist anybody who might be interested in relocating some kind of a retail operation into that vacant building when it is does become vacant towards the end of the year.

Kmart has had its store in the Falls for the past forty years.
