Manitoba Power Project Given Green Light

Manitoba Hydro has received final pre-construction approvals from the National Energy Board to start work on a new transmission line that will link with one under construction in Minnesota.

The entire 500-kilovolt line was to be completed by 2020 but faced regulatory delays on the Canadian side.

Manitoba Hydro says its’ currently updates its construction schedules and will reveal them in the next two weeks.

Minnesota Power has completed much of its part of the transmission line. There’s still a section within Lake of the Woods County that needs to be finished. A portion of the line also runs through Koochiching County
