Changes To Moose Hunting Practices Proposed

Some changes impacting moose hunting in Ontario.

The provincial government is now seeking public comment on a revised management strategy

It includes changes to how licenses are issued to encourage hunting parties and a new points system to determine how tags are distributed.

It would also reduce the maximum size of a hunting party to 10 and allow them a wide area to hunt from each other.

Those changes would go into effect in 2021.

The government’s proposals are now posted on the Environmental Registry for review until September 26.
