Move Over Law Being Enforced

OPP are concerned with drivers who don’t move over for police and other emergency personnel who are working alongside a roadway.

So they’re stepping up enforcement of Ontario’s Move Over Law this weekend.

The law has been in place since 2003.

Almost 1.900 charges were laid last year against drivers who did not slow down and/or moved over when tow trucks, police, ambulance and fire emergency vehicles were at the side of a road.

Failing to comply can cost you between $490 and $2,000.
