All Campsites Now Open

Two final campsites closed this year in Voyageurs National Park to protect bald eagle nesting sites has now been opened to the public.

Both are located at Kabetogama Lake, known as the Happy Landing Campsite and the Yoder Island Houseboat site.

During the year, park staff observed 88 separate nesting sites, 27 of which were occupied by breeding eagles.

At least thirty-one eagle chick hatched survived to fledgling.
