Fort Frances BIA Holds Summer Celebration

It’s a Scott Street Summer Celebration in downtown Fort Frances today.

The event, formerly known as Mall Day, will include sidewalk sales, fundraisers and other events.

Fort Frances Downtown Business Improvement Association’s Jennifer Horton says it is also a shorter day than in the past.

“It’s a shorter day that usual. We thought because it gets hotter in the day that we would run it a little bit earlier. As well, it’s the same time as Rainy Lake market goes, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.,” says Horton.

Only the 200-block of Scott will be closed for the event with barricades going up at 8 a.m.

Last year’s event was held at Rainy Lake Square.
