Essentia Health in Minnesota says as many as one thousand of its patients may have been impacted by a data breach of a former vendor.
Nemadji Research Corporation, which had assisted Essentia with billing services, became aware of the breach in March.
It’s not certain what, if any, personal information was obtained, but Essentia says it is informing its patients as a precaution.
It’s also offering them free credit protection services.
Essentia operates a clinic in International Falls.
