Local Sports Report For Monday, July 8

At Emo Speedway Saturday, Brody Strachan of Emo won his first modified feature of the season.

Cody Ossachuk of Fort Frances capturing his first mid-west mod feature of the year.

Jake Froemke of International Falls won the street stock feature, his third in four weeks.

 

More strong finishers for motocross racers from the area at the fourth race of the Superior Dirt Riders, held this weekend at Kakabeka Falls.

Dylan Tessier of Devlin was first in the MX3 Beginner class while Atikokan’s Kelyn Vos was third.

Landon Flinders of Fort Frances was second in the 85cc 7-11 division.

Joel Bringham of Atikokan finished third in the Supermini class.

Brandon Crosswell of Fort Frances finishing third in the Schooboy division.

 

An International Falls team are this year’s winners of the first bass fishing tournament of the year.

Larry Foss and Joe Pagnac of International Falls reeling in 30.3 pounds of bass to capture the Lake Despair Bass Fishing Tournament.

They edged out Mike Badiuk and Ryan McDowell of Devlin who weighted in 29.54 points over two days of fishing.

Third place went to Gord Watson and Clyde Laplante who finished with 28.55 pounds.

A total of 48 teams were involved.
