Some Help For MNRF

The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is getting some help from the east coast to assist with forest fires burning in northwestern Ontario.

Twenty-one forest firefighters from Nova Scotia are expected to arrive in Thunder Bay later today.

They’ll be spending two to three weeks on area fire lines.

Nova Scotia’s assistance was requested through the Canadian Interagency Forest Fire Centre.

The province of Alberta is also sending support.

It announces on Twitter it is providing two airtankers, a birddog aircraft and an Air Attack Officer to help Ontario with its forest fires.
