Active Forest Fire Weekend

Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews were kept busy over the Canada Day long weekend.

A total of 16 fires were reported since Friday.

Three remain active this morning, including a small fire near Kishtunane Lake, east of Nestor Falls.

A much larger blaze is burning near the Ontario-Manitoba border, southwest of Poplar Hill.

It’s covering about 350 hectares and listed as not under control.
