Minnesotans On Alert For High Pressure Water Treatment Program Salespeople

An issue that was a problem in Ontario is now a growing concern in Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Health is warning of some water treatment companies using deceptive sales tactics to sell their products.

A common tactic is offering a free water tests which then leads to claims of substances in one’s water and the need for their products.

The department says those water treatment units are both expensive and unnecessary especially in municipalities where strong drinking water standards are in place.

Ontario put in legislation in March 2018 that banned unsolicited door-to-door sales of such things as water treatment devices, softeners, filters and heaters because of similar complaints.
