Local Sports Report For Thursday, June 13

Couchiching Raiders extended their win streak in the Rainy River District Women’s Fatball League to 7 games after a 25-8 win over Dawson last night

Jenn Singleton was credited with the win on the mound.

Elsewhere, Shae Smith homered in Northwest Bay’s 26-2 win over Red Gut.

Darcy Smith pitched for the win.

Fort France Her-ricanes got by Big Grassy 12-8 with Marissa Kerry earning the win.

The Renegades defeated the Fort Frances Angels 12-3.

Karma Andy was the winning pitcher.

A game between the Mud Dogs and Manitou was cancelled and has been scheduled for June 26th.

 

The Superior International Junior Hockey League will be a team short this coming season.

The Minnesota Iron Rangers are taking a one year break.

Commissioner Bryan Graham says the move will allow a new ownership group to clear up some issues including an arena lease with a community in the Iron Range district.

The SIJHL will still have six teams with addition of the Wisconsin Lumberjacks.
