The cable provider attributes a change in delivery systems as the reason why CBC isn’t available to its customers in International Falls.
Midco it forced them to drop the channel feed from Winnipeg from its cable lineup last year.
City mayor Bob Anderson says some residents are missing it.
The issue came up during this Monday’s Falls city council meeting.
Anderson wrote Midco in January. The cable provider returned a reply in March.
In it, Midco says it picked up a feed out of Fredericton, New Brunswick to replace the Winnipeg feed but had to drop it as it was considered a signal not permitted in their service area.
Midco adds “if the feed directly from CBC/Winnipeg becomes available again at a future date, we will certainly see if we can restore the service to the customers of International Falls.”
Anderson says the city is now reviewing a contract it has Midco to see if there is anything that can be done to get the CBC signal returned.
