Possible human remains have been found during a search for a man from New Mexico within the Boundary Waters Canoe Area.
They were discovered last Thursday, about 60 kilometres east of Orr, scattered across a large area near a tent site believed to be belonging to 29-year-old Jason Grider.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says the man had been wintering in the area.
Authorities first found his campsite April 5th with a large amount of blood inside a tent but no sign of Grider.
A search at the time was called off because of heavy snow.
The remains have been sent to the Medical Examiners Officer for identification.
