The House rep for Koochiching County is welcoming an investment by CN to upgrade its rail infrastructure in Minnesota
CN plans to spent $80-million this year.
Some of it will be on installing new rail lines.
The rest will be to upgrade bridges and signal systems and develop a system which helps stop trains before accidents occur.
Rob Ecklund sees the improvements not only improving safety, but also bolstering opportunities in northern Minnesota to prosper.
