Three dead after crash on Highway 17

Three people are dead following a collision that happened on highway 17 near Raith.

Ontario Provincial Police say they were called to the scene where two commercial vehicles collided around 3:30 a.m. on April 17.

All three people were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not released their identities pending notification of next of kin.

The crash led to an extended closure of the highway between Ignace and Shabaqua, and police say the highway will remain closed as the investigation continues.
