Minnesota man killed in snowmobile collision north of International Falls

A snowmobile collision on the Arrowhead Snowmobile Trail in northern Minnesota has left a man dead.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office says a snowmachine struck tree, about 25 miles north of Orr.

It happened last Thursday at around 10:00 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Office says the operator failed to navigate a 90-degree corner.

The 29-year-old man from North Branch, Minnesota, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name has been yet been released.

Authorities say the rider was with a group of others but become separated.

His body was found about an hour later.

The incident remains under investigation by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
