Mineral exploration continuing north of Fort Frances

Storm Exploration says it plans to conduct drilling in an area north of Fort Frances, believed to be rich in gold.

Further groundwork is also planned at its Gold Standard project before the drills move in.

The groundwork will include geophysical surveys, prospecting, and geological mapping.

The company states that drilling could occur by the middle of this year.

Storm previously signed exploration agreements with Naicatchewenin and Nigigoonsiminikaaning First Nations, whose traditional territories include the project area.

The land encompasses more than 6,018 hectares of mineral claims.

Inco Limited conducted some drilling in 1969 and 1970, revealing signs of copper and zinc mineralization.
