Fort Frances to lose power on Sunday

Fort Frances residents will be without power for nine hours on Sunday.

The Fort Frances Power Corporation is shutting the power off to allow crews to safely replace critical infrastructure at its transformer station.

The lights will go dark at 7 a.m. Sunday and come back on at around 4 p.m.

Some businesses with generators intended to be open.

Riverside Health Care says it will have its emergency department at La Verendrye General Hospital open, but recommends those with non-emergencies contact Health Connect Ontario.

All traffic lights will be out.

Motorists are advised to treat those intersections as four-way stops.
