Outbreaks hit two Rainy River district facilities

Visitor restrictions are in place at the Emo Health Centre and Rainycrest Long Term Care in Fort Frances.

Emo Health Centre is dealing with a gastrointestinal outbreak while a respiratory outbreak has been declared at Rainycrest’s East and West wings.

Riverside Health Care says affected residents are limited to having no more than two visitors or caregivers in their room at any one time until further notice.

Restrictions on admissions, discharges and social activities are in place.

Riverside also urges visitors to conduct self-screening before entering either facility and stay away if ill or experiencing any symptoms.
