A new forest fire confirmed in Northwest Region

On Sunday evening, the Aviation, Forest Fire and Emergency Services (AFFES) confirmed the emergence of a new fire in the Northwest Region.

Nipigon 44 (NIP044) is situated close to Eureka Lake, roughly 103 kilometres east of Longlac. The fire currently spans 4.8 hectares and is not yet under control.

According to the most recent information from AFFES, there are 13 active fires in the Northwest Region.

Of these, three are out of control and the other 10 are being observed for further development.
