World Suicide Awareness Day 2024

September 10th is World Suicide Prevention Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about suicide prevention and promoting actions that can help save lives.

This year’s theme is “Changing the Narrative on Suicide,” which emphasizes the importance of open conversations and reducing stigma around mental health issues.

Suicide is a very real and significant health issue, with over 4,500 Canadians losing their lives to suicide each year.

Suicide is the second leading cause of death in youth and young adults. Each loss is a tragedy that deeply affects families, friends, and communities.

By working together, we can create a supportive environment that encourages individuals to seek help and talk about their struggles.

Knowing where to turn for help is crucial. Here are some resources that are available across Canada, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week…
