Crime incidents still higher than last year

Fort Frances continues to see crime on an upward trend in 2023.

Violent crime for the first nine months of the year is up 17 per cent over last year.

This is despite an 8 per cent drop experienced during the summer months.

Property crime is up 3 per cent.

There have been fewer motor vehicle collisions.

Numbers show 142 collisions up to the end of September.

That is 17 per cent lower than last year.

Fourteen of the collisions this year have resulted in injuries.
